A Thanksgiving

Every day, I wake up, I have reasons to be grateful,

I give thanks to God for another day of my life.

It is by his wonderful grace that I can rise,

If it were not for the Lord, I could not open my eyes.

Only God can always keep me safe,

He will lead me through his wonderful ways.

The Lord does this not because I am worthy,

God does everything so that I may see his love, surely.

The love that God has goes far beyond our reason,

It is directly to my heart; strong out of my comprehension.

My heart desires to cry out to give thanks,

Praising God every day for his actions.

Thank you, Lord, for always being by my side,

I thank you, God, you have forgiven me and are my guide.

I give thanks to you for my food every day,

I thank the Lord for my growth in every way.

Grace Has No Value

The Gospel of God’s Grace no longer has value,

People do not care about the Lord’s cross; it seems unusual.

Many are determined to conquer and gain,

The sacrifice made by Jesus seemed to be in vain.

Many leaders insist on preaching the “new truth and reality”,

They say that God created everyone to have prosperity,

Words like grace and salvation do not enter the sermon,

They hear about fulfilling the desires of everyone.

The worst part is that the heart’s desire is not adoration,

The greatest desire of the heart is many possessions.

Many people desire to humiliate their enemies,

They want this to exalt themselves magnificently.

With these practices, people do everything wrong,

They go to church but are far from Jesus’s instructions.

The Lord Jesus taught that humility is a noble quality,

And exaltation depends on God and his blessing.

Jesus showed what is the greatest fortune one can have,

Treasure should be where moths cannot ravage.

The greatest prosperity is the salvation of the Lord,

The greatest wealth is to be with the Savior.

Heavy Burdens

We go through life carrying heavy burdens,

There are many desires, preoccupations, and fears.

All this makes our souls terribly burdened.

We feel that each day is getting worse the situation,

We feel the burden is becoming unsupportable.

Our hearts melt and fall into desperation.

This giant weight overshadows any and all happiness,

The mind no longer believes something good will happen.

The mind inhabits a deep pit, living in the darkness.

There is a point that is impossible to live in this way,

We fall to the ground, and the weep floods our being.

Everything is so terrible that we even desire to pass away.

In dense darkness, we hear someone calling,

Someone is saying our name.

We look around to see who is speaking.

It is calling That One who can rescue us,

The marvelous, the mighty, the faithful, the great master.

Jesus Christ calls on us, and from the pit, He will take us.

The Lord Jesus Christ illuminates and dissipates darkness,

He holds our hands and raises us.

Through a straight and enlightened way, He will drive us.

That mortal burden, Jesus Christ removes,

He throws away all bad things.

And He gives us His load which is very smooth.

Besides the relief, He always will be by our side,

He will never leave that we follow without aid.

He will never let us fall discouraged another time.

Whenever the load seems heavy again,

Jesus will provide us with His infinite strength.

We will overcome any and all circumstances.

An Extraordinary Day

That seemed to be only one more day,

One like all the others in his life’s way.

That man was brought to his place,

He lived there begging for someone’s grace.

The poor man had been born lame and disabled,

He could not walk; he was always carried.

He depended on everyone for all the things,

He was free, but there was a sad prison for him.

At a special place, the man was placed,

He was left at the temple, in the Beautiful gate.

He expected that day to be usual,

Staying on the ground already seemed natural.

He saw all the people and asked for alms from them,

He wanted only a crumb to satiate him at that moment.

In his life, there was no hope or perspective,

To be alive at the end of that day was his wish.

Two men passed through that gate,

He extended his hand, and some alms; he waited.

His life began to change at that moment,

The attention of them was on that man.

The men asked him to raise his sight,

They could see the face of suffering life.

The man waited to receive something,

He did not imagine what was happening.

He did not know who those men represented,

He had no idea about the power inside of them.

Peter and John were directed to be right there,

At that hour, the glory of Jesus would act.

Peter did not have silver or gold to donate,

But he had Jesus Christ; a miracle would take place.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Peter declared to him:

“Walk, you are receiving the Lord’s healing.”

The healing happened instantaneously,

The change occurred immediately.

His feet returned to their perfect state,

He walked as if he had never been lame.

Now, that man could enter the temple of the Lord,

He jumped and praised God, his liberator.

All the people saw him and got amazed,

They recognized him as the same who was lame.

The life of that man was never the same,

He lived a supernatural cure through Jesus’ name.

The Lord gave him back his happiness and dignity,

The Almighty God gave his liberty.

Obedience

The Lord is always teaching us,

He is always showing the way to follow.

He speaks the way we shall go,

One way free from all evils.

His path is good and pleasant,

It is a straight road without detours.

There are some battles and difficulties,

But God is with us, and He helps us.

To follow this path is easy,

It is enough to praise, obey, and worship.

Doing this, He will have mercy on you,

And He will always help and protect you.

Better than his protection, there is no one.

We have to be obedient and grateful.

Then, God will please about me and you,

He will help us with pleasure.

Your Protection

When I wake up, your presence, I can feel.

I open my eyes, breath, and wake up.

There is a breath of life on me.

I am alive, and I thank only Thee.

The Lord is my friend and protector,

He put his shield on me,

Of the destructor and the evils, He is ridding me.

I trust in your ways and decrees,

I seek to follow your holy word,

And learn about the Lord.

I am getting away from the wickedness of the world.

In this terrible world, only the Lord can help.

Because there are too many things against me,

Many evils want to rise,

But the Lord is with me to save me.

From everything bad, He will rid me.

Impatient

Many times, we only want great miracles in our lives,

We want to have remarkable things for our ego to be satisfied.

We even stay anxious when do not happen something big,

We think the excellent blessing of God, we will not receive it.

At this moment, we are very impatient, and from God, we demand,

Seeking for explanations, even accusing Him of closing his hand.

We want Him to respond to our petition promptly,

We want the realization of all our heart’s desires immediately.

This kind of thinking shows great immaturity,

We think about what we do not have and forget current felicity.

We forget everything God already made for us,

We forget the little things He gave us.

Every day, God gifts us with the opportunity to be alive,

He graces us with marvelous dawn in front of our sight.

God gives us the chance to contemplate the beauty of His creation,

He makes us understand everything is in its perfect location.

In everything, we perceive that God always acts perfectly,

We see there is no reason to live impatiently or anxiously.

The first thing to do is to thank for everything God gives us,

And believe that in the perfect time, our miracle, He will give us.

Criticizing Mistakes

In most situations, we are excellent to criticize,

Seeing something wrong, we complain as soon as we realize it.

We indicate the failures of others with boldness and authority,

We act like we are always right, as we make everything perfect.

Generally, we do not try to understand the side of those who mistook,

We only want to criticize him and show what he did is not good.

Even if the person has done a thousand of perfect work,

The unique thing we give attention to is their worst work.

We are so arrogant acting with this kind of thinking,

We think we are perfect in everything.

But if we stop to think, we will see how we miss,

We will see that we are more imperfect than we think.

We are imperfect and subjected to many kinds of mistakes,

Maybe, we have many more mistakes than hits.

Even with all our mistakes, there is someone important who accepts us,

It is the Lord God, and independently of all, He does not reject us.

God accepts us because He forgives what we did wrong,

The things we made in your past are not in his account.

We must show this forgiver love for everyone,

We must think about forgiveness and empathy, instead of criticizing someone.

The Lord’s Speech

The Lord always comes to speak with us,

His sweet voice deserves attention from all of us.

He may not come with a voice of thunder and might,

But as a gentle voice in our hearts, shining bright.

The Lord speaks to us in many different ways,

It could be at home alone or inside the church on service days.

We must pay attention to all the signs we see,

Knowing that God always has something to tell you and me.

The best way to communicate with Him,

It is always going to his Word and meditate on it.

Not just consulting it as a simple proverb or rhyme,

But analyzing it as the right path, sublime.

The Bible is the way God chose to speak,

In a sublime way to create a relationship.

Showing how merciful and compassionate He can be,

For all to know that He is a zealous Father, we see.
