An Extraordinary Day

That seemed to be only one more day,

One like all the others in his life’s way.

That man was brought to his place,

He lived there begging for someone’s grace.

The poor man had been born lame and disabled,

He could not walk; he was always carried.

He depended on everyone for all the things,

He was free, but there was a sad prison for him.

At a special place, the man was placed,

He was left at the temple, in the Beautiful gate.

He expected that day to be usual,

Staying on the ground already seemed natural.

He saw all the people and asked for alms from them,

He wanted only a crumb to satiate him at that moment.

In his life, there was no hope or perspective,

To be alive at the end of that day was his wish.

Two men passed through that gate,

He extended his hand, and some alms; he waited.

His life began to change at that moment,

The attention of them was on that man.

The men asked him to raise his sight,

They could see the face of suffering life.

The man waited to receive something,

He did not imagine what was happening.

He did not know who those men represented,

He had no idea about the power inside of them.

Peter and John were directed to be right there,

At that hour, the glory of Jesus would act.

Peter did not have silver or gold to donate,

But he had Jesus Christ; a miracle would take place.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Peter declared to him:

“Walk, you are receiving the Lord’s healing.”

The healing happened instantaneously,

The change occurred immediately.

His feet returned to their perfect state,

He walked as if he had never been lame.

Now, that man could enter the temple of the Lord,

He jumped and praised God, his liberator.

All the people saw him and got amazed,

They recognized him as the same who was lame.

The life of that man was never the same,

He lived a supernatural cure through Jesus’ name.

The Lord gave him back his happiness and dignity,

The Almighty God gave his liberty.
