Naaman

Naaman was a worthy man,

He was respected in the whole land.

He was a brave war hero,

He won many battles for his master’s kingdom.

But he had the great affliction,

He had an illness that was seen as a curse.

He carried in his body leprosy.

At that time, it was a terrible thing.

Go to Elisha, his servant said to him,

He is a prophet, and God’s power is on him.

To the lands of Israel, he traveled.

The prophet Elisha, he has visited.

Naaman was not received as he hoped,

For him, the prophet did not even go out home.

A message was given through his servant,

Saying what should be done for the cure of Naaman.

In the dirty Jordan River, he would dive seven times,

Then that terrible leprosy would leave his life.

This order, he did not accept in the beginning,

But his servant has convinced him.

In the Jordan River, Naaman washed himself,

From all leprosy, he purified himself.

The power of God, Naaman has recognized,

A gift for the prophet, he has offered.

Elisha did not accept anything,

The Lord was the only one who pleased him.

Naaman said he was converted,

From all his bad ways, he regretted it.

He would serve only the Living God.
